presentation is over! oh my gosh, i would say im somewhat relieved. i was so afraid we would not be up to standard, but on the other hand, i was confident with our work. i would say that our efforts have paid off, and surprisingly, i learnt more fron this module than i expected. pitching, is not based merely on words, but also on full fledged preparations. oh wells.

i would say the group i worked with was one that i was absolutely comfortable with. and despite the long hours and late nights, i dont feel disheartened. so yeah.

tomorrow's submission for all the pitching booklet, etc. thats all for StoPp!
yay!
its 6 plus in the morning, and we're all still awake. there's still work to do, but im sure it should be complete before presentation at 1.30pm. somehow, this module has proven to be somewhat of a test.

why a test? because a lot of our skills and capabilities are being put to the test. i find that its so important to have a well balanced team, or things may just fall apart. i shall constantly keep that in mind. and i think the reason why we're still up at this hour working is not because it is last minute, but because we want it to be the best it can be. and im proud of what we've done.

well, its back to work now then. yay! good morning!

oh my gosh, i am so exhausted. and so is angie. we spent the night working on the storyboard and the mood board. it isnt complete though, but we're working on it. it was just an extremely tiring night. i wonder if this is how it'd be like when we go into the industry.. the late nights, the harsh deadlines, the need to do our work good. oh wells. anyways, we met up with the rest of the group at boon bin's house to see each other's progress. hmmm. everything's going alright i guess.

anyways, we need to complete the storyboards and scan the work in so that we can document it properly. meaning, its off to angie's house again. but this time, with boon bin, his laptop, and his scanner. i know the night's going to be grueling, but im certain we can make it! yay!

alright, will update again later or tomorrow morning before the presentation. :)

we have a name!

LIGHTBOX PRODUCTIONS.
its been a tiring day. maybe because there is so much to do, and yet, there seems to be so little time? well, in any case, today was somewhat alright. i wouldnt say it was efficiently well spent, but at least the group and i got down to doing some work.

well, today we delegated our jobs and settled the list of things we need done by thursday. kirin and yvonne are going to work on the set design and the research needed for the proposal, angie and i will be working on the storyboards, mood boards, and colour schemes for the music video, whilst boon bin will cover sound and the piecing of the storyboards together to create the animatics.

tonight's going to be a long night for angie and i. i guess i'll probably go over to her place to work on the boards with her. hope to finish it, or we'd probably not have time to get some eye shut. hmmmm.

will be meeting the group tomorrow at boon bin's house to settle everything. its so stressful with the deadline so nearby, but im sure we'll be able to make it. :) yay!

presentation day. interim.

most of us met up earlier in class today to settle requirements for the presentation, meaning, the final one. went throug the storyboards and scanned it in, then put it in the slides and made sure we had the rough storyboard to show mr. ronald. however, things did not quite go as we had hoped it would.

the group and i thought that this presentation was supposed to be an update on our assignment, and so, we merely presented the rough ideas. we felt that the extra details should be left for the final presentation, thats why we did not reveal much. however, it seemed like mr. ronald was rather disappointed with our presentation. wow, its been a while since i last heard that the presentation was carried out without confidence whatsoever. i suppose its because we werent prepared. oh wells.

in any case, im sure that things will go fine now, after hearing mr. ronald's comments. the next three days will be grueling, but hopefully, everyone will do their part and make this final project pitching a good one.

will be meeting the group tomorrow morning to continue on our progress. i've delegated roles equally so that we can all put in our 100% effort to make it good. so yup.

we can do it! yay!

and now, back to researching. :)

Sunday, May 11, 2008

ahh yes. the day, i would say, was somewhat fruitful, though slightly stressful. why so? because there's an interim presentation tomorrow, and we've not yet completed all that we had aimed to achieve. hopefully more things will be completed by 11am tomorrow when most of the team meets up to tie up loose ends.

well, angie, boon bin and yvonne came over today to work on the project together. kirin said she wasnt feeling well, and decided not to come over. wish she had, cos i didnt want her to be in a position where she finds herself lacking in the 'doing something' department. oh wells. in any case, angie and i managed to settle the shots, while boon bin and yvonne worked on other parts of the presentation.

i do hope our efforts for a full presentation wont go to waste. i mean, a 30 second pitch is not difficult whatsoever, and im sure i'll be able to handle it fine.. oh wells. i shall not think about it, and let things flow smoothly. :)

okay, i'll need to rest soon, and get up early to help angie with the storyboard and brief kirin on her job scope. so yup.

thursday, bring it on! yay!

Saturday, May 10, 2008

ooh. i met angie today to discuss the storyboard. made plans with her to discuss setting, character design, and shot angles. well, we headed to changi airport, as we like the atmosphere there, and finally settled down and started working as soon as our bodies were charged with delectable fuel.

the rough ideas were thought of when we met yesterday, but angie and i got down to deciding it in entirety just now. it took a while, and we had to time certain actions to make sure it tied in well with the song, and also visualise the shots before confirming it. boon bin came for a while to help us with some camera angles, and it all went smoothly.

i would say that was an absolutely fantastically productive meeting. im just amazed at the speed at which our ideas just flowed and how angie and i understood each other with each description of every panel. i love it!

well, its getting late, and we're going to meet as a group tomorrow at my place to settle as much as we can for the final presentation, and also for monday's presentation too. so yup.

i truly appreciate this team that i have. yay!

Friday, May 9, 2008

wow, it's been a long day. many things happened today, but the purpose for this online journal is to talk about the StoPp presentation preparation.

met up with most of the group members today, as in angie, kirin and yvonne. boon bin had work, so he couldnt join us, but we still managed to settle quite a bit! ideas came pretty quickly, and we managed to settle the concept of our storyboard easily, seeing that we had the same ideas in mind. it was so assuring to see the group gel together so easily and got things done within the short time that we had as a group for the day. well, i delegated work to the rest, so for tomorrow, yvonne and kirin will be working on a portion together, while angie and i will be working on the set and storyboard.

we'll be meeting in full strength on sunday at my place to prepare fr the first presentation! yay!
okay. im drained. i need sleep.
COWARD OF THE COUNTY
Kenny Rogers

Everyone considered him the coward of the county --
He'd never stood one single time to prove the county wrong.
His mama named him Tommy, but folks just called him yellow,
Something always told me they were reading Tommy wrong.

He was only ten years old when his daddy died in prison;
I looked after Tommy, 'cause he was my brother's son.
I still recall the final words my brother said to Tommy,
"Son my life is over, but yours has just begun".

"Promise me, son, not to do the things I've done --
Walk away from trouble if you can.
It won't mean you're weak if you turn the other cheek
I hope you're old enough to understand,
Son, you don't have to fight to be a man."

There's someone for everyone, and Tommy's love was Becky.
In her arms he didn't have to prove he was a man.
One day while he was working, the Gatlin boys came calling --
They took turns at Becky, n'there was three of them).

Tommy opened up the door, and saw Becky crying.
The torn dress, the shattered look was more than he could stand.
He reached above the fireplace, and took down his daddy's picture.
As his tears fell on his daddy's face, he heard these words again:

"Promise me, son, not to do the things I've done --
Walk away from trouble if you can.
It won't mean you're weak if you turn the other cheek
I hope you're old enough to understand,
Son, you don't have to fight to be a man."

The Gatlin boys just laughed at him when he walked into the barroom;
One of them got up and met him half way cross the floor.
When Tommy turned around they said, "Hey look! old yeller's leaving,"
But you could've heard a pin drop when Tommy stopped and locked the door.

well, thats the part of the song which we need to work on. hopefully everything will go smoothly. :)
